Areas Of Support
Most men don’t show up to therapy because they want to. They show up because the way they’ve been coping has finally stopped working.
I grew up in competitive sports including playing in the Little League World Series at 18 so I understand the world a lot of high-performing men live in: push through, don’t show weakness, perform no matter what’s going on underneath. That mindset can take you a long way. It can also leave you carrying things you were never taught how to put down.
I work primarily with men dealing with the effects of trauma, pressure, and the cost of always having to be on for others, which lead to negative beliefs about your self whether something happened directly to you or you grew up around it. Often it doesn’t look like “trauma.” It looks like anger that comes out sideways, anxiety that won’t switch off, low drive, nightmares, pulling away from the people closest to you, or a relationship that keeps hitting the same wall. “Big T” or “little t,” the patterns are real and they’re workable.
My first job is to make this feel safe and steady. Before we go anywhere difficult, we build trust and a clear plan for how we work together, so you always know what we’re doing and why.
I also work with couples, and understand the last thing guys need is to be picked on in a therapy session so often men want someone who can align with them as another man and bridge the gap that there is with more of a female dominated industry. Using the Gottman Method, I help partners break out of the same recurring fights, rebuild communication and trust, and feel like a team again including couples navigating the strain of demanding careers, time apart, or the aftermath of trauma and disconnection.
I’m a Registered Psychologist with 9 years of experience, drawing on EMDR, ACT, CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Existential Therapy, and the Gottman Method. My core focus areas are trauma and PTSD, men’s mental health, performance and high-pressure environments, anger, anxiety, depression, communication, and couples therapy.
If you’re ready to do the work, I offer a free 15-minute consult so we can see if we’re the right fit. You don’t have to keep white-knuckling this on your own.
